That Wanaka Tree, as its fondly known, is a crack willow believed to be New Zealand's most famous tree. It began life as a fence post more than 80 years ago and continues to survive vandalism by tourists - thankfully! It's certainly one of the most photographed trees, so of course I had to give it the Steve Ballantyne treatment.
