The site of one of the most famous shipwrecks on the Shipwreck Coast, Loch Ard Gorge is seriously spectacular. The ship “Loch Ard” crashed into nearby Mutton Island. There were just two survivors, Tom Pearce and Eva Carmichael, both 19 years old. Tom was a sailor. Eva had been travelling with her family. Clear blue waters, tall cliffs framing a beautiful bay, and movie-star status to boot! As well as movies, it featured in the 1999 TV series “Journey to the Centre of the Earth.”
