Kawarau Gorge
"Kawarau Gorge" is an open edition Central Otago art print.
Kawarau Gorge, located in Central Otago on New Zealand's South Island, is rich in history and intrigue. During the Otago gold rush in the 1860s, the Kawarau Gorge was a hub of activity. Completed in 1880, the Kawarau Gorge Suspension Bridge was designed by engineer Harry Higginson. Faced with the challenge of strong winds in the sheer rocky gorge, Higginson implemented innovative strengthening solutions, including inward-sloping cables. In 1988, the bridge became the site of the world's first commercial bungy jumping venture, initiated by A.J. Hackett.
This Central Otago art print of Kawarau Gorge is available as 400x400mm, 600x600mm and 800x800mm.
"Kawarau Gorge" is a landscape art print, printed on high quality Epson Enhanced 192gsm matte paper, so you'll get images with sharp detail, high colour saturation and a high gamut. It is quick drying with a flat matte finish and a bright white base that accentuates highlights and tones.
I have loads more landscape, beach, mountains and waterfall art prints available, covering Auckland & Waikato West Coast (Piha, Bethells Beach, Whatipu, Raglan and Muriwai), Northland Beaches, Coromandel Beaches (Hot Water Beach, Cathedral Cove, Hahei, Pauanui) and South Island Beaches, plus East Cape beaches, Australia beaches, and New Zealand waterfalls.
