Sydney Rock Pools
On a recent trans-Tasman break, I made a point of exploring all of Sydney’s rock pools. They seemed worthy of wall art, and I wasn’t disappointed. Built where the ocean meets the land, they blur the line between wild and tamed - part swimming hole, part natural wonder. The waves crash in, the water shifts with the tides, and the early morning swimmers barely flinch as the spray hits them.
Whether it’s the drama of Bondi’s Icebergs, the quiet charm of Fairy Bower, or the salt-streaked history of Wylie’s Baths, each has its own story. If you’ve been for a swim in one, you get it. You’re stepping into water that’s both beautifully inviting and wildly unpredictable.
